obviously fascinating! but this does feel irrelevant in 2026. Trump has been in power for a year and a few months, and things are actually, worse? And dont look like they're getting better?
Like, it really does seem that leftists were correct, and that the mega corporations of today really ARE just, raping and pillaging the country for their own gain.
because of that, criticizing leftism doesn't hit as hard anymore.
it's like, you guys won. What are you complaining about now?
I say this as a pretty big fan of the post liberal worldview, FYI, so!!!!
Just being as honest as I was with left liberals, during the 2023-2024 years.
Accepting a new Air Force One from the Qataris and attempting to bankroll real estate developments in Gaza ain't anti-globalism - it's its next chapter.
I’m no expert, but if that’s true, it seems to imply that the globalists hold ‘the stronger hand of cards’. If so, I’m not sure what the point of the presentations at Davos was for.?. So I suspect the battle is still happening, just that I’m not in a position to monitor it. If America (and other nations) can’t get out of the grips of globalism, it portends a bleak future.
From my view, Trump team’s presentation at Davos was to show non globalists of Europe and the world that there is a plan and effort in place to fight globalism. It had basically nothing to do with the Greenland issue. Trump brought up the Greenland issue in his speech purely because it was going on then, so he said he might as well mention it since it was the same audience.
His Davos speech and Greenland ambitions alienated the German Afd and and Italian FdI. Those movements remain very much alive but now they are certain to pursue a nationalist course that avoid partnering the USA.
Again, I believe that Trump went to Davos not to espouse an anti-Globalist vision but merely to attempt to strong-arm the other members of the G7 into accepting higher returns for the USA and himself.
Hehe, pay attention to the important stuff, like the presentations at the WEF in Davos by Bessent, Lutnick, and Greer. Trump 2.0 introduced the American System of political economy directly to the globalists in their home turf. The same system America used to gain independence from England at the time of the American revolution and again Lincoln applied it to help the North overcome the financial aid England was giving the South in the Civil War.
The only significant development arising from the Trump's appearance at Davos was the breathtaking speed with which he was forced to back down from his threats to seize Greenland when a certain Danish banker informed Lutnick of his country's plans to dump US Treasuries if he followed through on his threat.

Which is why Trump is also fighting globalism

Grow up.

The point of the Trump team's presentations at Davos was to shake down Europe.
It didn't work.

Trump had his backside handed to him.
An anonymous article? Hardly surprising. I wouldn't want to put my name to this pap, either.
The political compass of most American universities is Hayekian - not Marxist.
At least the article was mercifully brief.
